Welcome to the North Rose-Wolcott Jets Soccer Club, established in 1967 by our dear friend Peter Stewart!
About
The Jets soccer league was founded to provide a fun, competitive soccer learning environment for the children of our community. It is all volunteer-based and runs best when parents and members of our community work together and remember that this is for the kids.
The program consists of a recreational league for children 4 to 12 years old and a traveling league for children aged 7 to 18.
Recreational League
Marshall fields {link with directions on google maps} has been the home for the summer recreational league for over 10 years. The league has typically run for 5 weeks from the Wednesday after Memorial Day to the Saturday before July 4th. Practices are held Wednesday evenings and small-sided games are held Saturday mornings. In the past, we typically had about 100 kids with team sizes ranging from 5-10 children per team divided by grade level. The cost of the league per child is typically in the range of $20-25 and covers the cost of insurance and a Jets soccer jersey. We are currently looking for someone to run this program. We may also hold 4-5 week fall outdoor sessions and winter indoor sessions.
Travel League
The travel league is fairly flexible and is determined by the coach. Teams often participate in the Wayne Finger Lakes Youth Soccer League (WFYSL) in the summer. This U11-U18 league includes teams such as Williamson, Sodus, Seneca Falls, Naples, Palmyra and, therefore, includes traveling to those locations for games. This league runs from mid-June to the end of July and includes 5 home games and 5 away games. There are typically two games and one practice per week. Coaches have also participated in summer outdoor leagues at the Central New York Family Sports Center (CNYFSC) since it includes more age levels such as U8-U18, odd and even numbers. Teams will also often participate in indoor soccer leagues either at CNYFSC or the new Tri-County Sports Complex in Walworth. Another indoor option for teams is to participate in various indoor tournaments in Wayne and Monroe Counties. We are always looking for volunteers to help manage the teams, the overall program, as well as to coach. Per player costs to participate with a travel team vary depending on the league entered but typically range from $50-70 for outdoor leagues to cover the league fee and insurance with an additional $15-20 dollars for a jersey. Indoor leagues range from $90-150 per player. Indoor tournaments are typically $10-20 per player. During the winter months practices are typically held one day a week on Sundays at the North Rose-Wolcott High School gym.
Volunteer Opportunities
The Jets Soccer Club is completely volunteer-based. Volunteer opportunities include coaching as well as managing various aspects of the organization. Work can include registering and making passes for the WFLYSL, maintaining the website, advertising the program and events on social media and via the schools, being a team manager, organizing and running the recreational summer program, running a one-day soccer clinic, etc. There are numerous opportunities to volunteer, and we would love your help. We are open to new ideas on how to improve the program to keep the NRW soccer strong!
